NO THANKS TO THE NEW GENERATION.

Ever since I have been humbly welcomed to the noble family of human race on the earth surface. There's one of these unfavorable experiences that used to feed the sense of my vision; even my conscience could not afford it as being fair. It's description is nothing  but a great injustice and an  act of ingrate of the highest order. So sad!

Quite more than two decades, I have been here as a living entity. Right from my young days, I kept asking myself these questions: why are the aged being acquaintance of Okirika? Why are old generations mostly being the patronage of newspapers? Why are old people absent at modern eatery? Why are aged are known with old things? May be that is their dividend from inconsiderable nature. Who knows!

At first, my thought was never the same about this. I used to think that only the few do this, not until when I later realized that almost all the new generations have insensibly imbibed this stupid culture that is uncalled for. 

It is so unfortunate, how could the new generation be so insensitive and callous  to the extent of been doused in to this frivolous activities. 

Under normal circumstances, when our society was sane, full of luster personalities,  everything was maintained: social norms were intact, when parents were god to their offsprings, the belief that under their feets lies our fortune was still intact, no one was ready to break fundamental rules, proper respect was accorded to whom is due without Jeopardy.

Besides, these are the people who sharpened your mouth that made you a trenchant object: they used what they had to secure better tomorrow for you. These people made themselves a ladder for you to reach your goals; these people weathered all storms to provide your needs, sometimes they went through dirty menials to offer you the best and used all their lively earn to make your dreams achievable.

Still and all, so paying them back with ungratefulness and modicum of care is what they deserve. instead of repaying them with kinds gestures and compensate their age long sweat. The new generation still wears their garb of pride and nagging. They deck I-don't-care face cap after assuming their favourite goals. And as well, after using them as a stepping ladder to make your dreams come realistic; what they deserve is to be deserted like used and dump vessel.

Moreover, these people do not deserve less. they have a healthy fitted body that would appreciate boutique wears, they are worthy enough to wine and dine with us at modern eateries during the weekends. Newspapers alone can not satisfy their thirst for social refreshments; their able bodies would appreciate the public centers for local, national and international shows.

But there is one thing about nature that I always appreciate most. It has never payed evil with good deeds, the law of karma is inevitable. No matter how strong you are mentally, physically and financially: at midnight, your Color will lose its distintiveness and becomes a sullen shades of grey which is Adulthood. So the way you treat the old generations is what you will definitely receive back.

As an Advocate, an offspring of old generation, a brother and a friend; I want to implore everyone to derray from this cheap mentality. They do not deserve less; they are our god; and under their foot our paradise lie. Let's give them support socially and financially. Their old age is not a curse; it's simply the best way life could use to describe the unskilled early stage of our lives -  which is childhood. New generation, please don't be an ingrate!
