WASTE MANAGEMENT AND HEALTH CONCERN.

WASTE MANAGEMENT AND HEALTH CONCERN.
Al-Qo'simy hernnany Atere, writes.

Over time, so many unbearable occurrences happen everyday, which has claimed lives and render some helplessly on the hospital beds. Such occurrences are a result of human negligence and improper disposal of waste in the environment. The effect of improper waste disposal has become an undesirable garment on our neck and threats to our noble existence on the surface of the earth.

Significantly, as it has been identified; waste is any unwanted or unusable material that has been discarded after its initial use. It could be in solid, liquid, or gaseous waste, examples of such waste are non-recyclable materials, depletion of natural gas illegally, pollution of the environment ( water and air) through the release of sewage. These substances when released to the earth surface provoke the human state of wellness.

Also, most materials that are extravagantly used by households these days are lethargic and toxic which impacts the society negatively either directly or indirectly.
Industrial waste, fumes from exhaust waste of industries to the atmosphere is a primary cause of acid rain, global warming, and some types of cancerous diseases, inflammation of the eyes, and irritation of respiratory organs when inhaled. Experience and researche has it that, waste in any of its state of matter when discarded to the environment also affects the aquatic organisms which indirectly affects us through the consumption of aquatic products.

The vulnerability to the negative effect of improper waste management is not limited to a particular demographics, it affects the whole system of the environment, from the company losing some revenue, to the government budget that will be distorted when plague arise directly or indirectly due to exposure to improper waste disposal, sanitation workers are affected during sorting and clearing of waste and community transmission which will probably occur when in an epidemic, all in all, they are interdependent.

Supposedly, in a sane society where policies and orderliness are maintained, the control of waste management will not be delegated to a particular body; rather it should be decentralised to both private and government investment or subjected to a public-private partnership.
All media platforms’ awareness will suffice to make humans aware of her consumption, and the effect of these waste materials on her health, which directly and indirectly will lead to less consumption, less waste, and effective management.

The detriment of waste materials to nature and her environment needs considerable attention to curb the escapade of its looming consequences as mentioned earlier. To make this effective, an accurate database and technological platforms for waste usage and disposal will be required.
Most of our non-recyclable plastics are the real ado affecting our societies. making our ambient unfriendly; most plastics and bottles are made of toxic chemicals such as mercury, lead, cobalt, selenium, and cyanide which are highly lethargic of which exposure to them could be the cause for untimely deaths and an avalanche of injuries.

Medically, First aid centers should be available at either strategic locations of waste collection centers or sorting centers for effective medication when accidents arise.
Conclusively, if everyone should continue living inconsiderably or decking of I don’t-care face to the improper management of waste; we are all at higher risk of infections.

I charge everyone to be responsible today for the proper management of waste, continuous sensitization of the people towards the positive effect of waste management, a clear and waste-free drainage system should be encouraged and weekly or regular environmental cleaning should be imbibed.
Our continuous existence on the surface of the earth lies in my hand and yours.

Let all be the part of the solution, not part of your pollution.
